No. Photo reading claims to train people to read up 10,000 words each minute. However, at these speeds readers may get a gist of the text but rarely do they get accurate understanding.

Speed Read 2XL is more concerned about helping children and young people to read faster and improve their understanding of what they read rather than just reading at such a speed without comprehending what they read. There is not much point in reading faster if you cannot comprehend what you read.

There are different thoughts on this. Some say that children should become competent readers before they learn how to speed read, while others believe that children as young as five can learn to speed-read.

The younger they are the easier it is for them to learn how to speed-read, just as it is easier for younger children to learn foreign languages.  Parents and/or teachers should decide on what they feel is right for each child.

Yes, it will. Speed Read 2XL makes use of a vibrant collection of words and therefore children and young people will be introduced to new words throughout the programme and this improves their vocabulary.  There is an on line dictionary in the programme for them to use when they come across words they are unsure about. 

The tools in the Speed Read 2XL tool kit are there to help you to learn the various techniques for speed reading. Once you have mastered these skills, you will be able to get by without using tools which you have access to off line, i.e. your finger.

Speed reading advocates such as Evelyn Wood, Tony Buzan, Robert Zorn, Steve Moidel, and Laurie Rozakis all agree that lifelong bad reading habits can be eliminated through a completely self-directed programme, by using techniques that eliminate poor reading habits. Speed Read 2XL is based on research carried out in reading proficiency over many years. It follows highly effective reading techniques such as flash-training, comprehension testing and speed timing.

If you already reading at 400 words per minute you can still use Speed Read 2XL to help you improve your speed even more. Maybe there are some additional techniques in our programme which you have not used or mastered before which you may find useful. Remember, the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement. 

Yes. Speed read 2XL has been written for children and young people, but parents and even teachers can also use it to improve their own speed reading abilities.  In fact we positively encourage parents to use it as well, to motive their children, and even compete with them. Set some family challenges and rewards, having fun as you improve your reading speed.

You have a Home license, which means anyone living in your household can use your account. You will need to log in using your username and secret password. Once logged in, you will be asked for an email address. Simply use a different email address for each member of the family and it will automatically create their account.
